DESCRIPTION:SMART Recovery at Mango Tree is a skills-based\, evidence-informed recovery support group for people seeking to make wiser\, healthier choices around substances\, compulsive behaviors\, or patterns that no longer serve them. \nThis open group integrates SMART Recovery principles\, CBT\, and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) within a community-centered\, culturally responsive space. We focus on building motivation\, managing urges\, working with thoughts and emotions\, and aligning daily actions with personal values — without shame\, labels\, or pressure. \nThis group is especially welcoming to BIPOC\, LGBTQ+ individuals\, and allies\, and honors how culture\, identity\, stress\, and systems shape recovery. DESCRIPTION:Free Dinner\, Make New Friends & Connect with Community Resources\nLed by local Asian therapists\, trained peer leaders\, and community partners\, this culturally grounded space offers opportunities to process shared experiences as young Asians\, strengthen cultural identity\, and find support alongside others who understand. \nWe’ll share a delicious Filipino meal\, meaningful conversation\, and resources to help you stay connected to culturally responsive mental health support beyond the event. \n\n\nRSVP is required\nFree Filipino dinner provided for all attendees*\nMental health conversations and resources\nConnecting with new friends\nAges 18 – 25ish welcome!\n\n\n*While we can’t accommodate individual dietary restrictions\, we will offer the following gluten-free/vegan and gluten-free/dairy free options along with sides and dessert. \n\nBy registering for and/or attending Philly Asians Connect: Food\, Friends\, & Feelings\, you agree to allow Asian Mental Health Collective (AMHC) to photograph and/or video record you during the Event\, and to use those images and videos for AMHC’s own promotional\, educational\, and archival purposes.
