About Me
I am a Philadelphia-based licensed clinical social worker and public health professional. My work is shaped by immigrant Filipino parents who taught me to love through a sense of home, a chosen queer family who model resistance and joy in the face of subjugation, and a public health community committed to honoring social and environmental context.
My approach is relational, intersubjective, and grounded in love, honor, and respect. I believe that healing emerges in connection — when stories, bodies, and identities are met with curiosity and compassion.
Education and Training
I received my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania and my Master’s in Public Health from Drexel University. I completed my Doctorate in Behavioral Health from Arizona State University, where my academic work focused on developing programming within patient-centered medical homes, integrated health care, recovery-oriented primary care, and body positivity.
My post-graduate clinical training includes foundational and fellowship-level work in relational-psychoanalytic psychotherapy, as well as a certificate in the clinical supervision of mental health providers. I am also a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) and specialize in helping individuals navigate sexual addiction, recovery, and the cultivation of healthy sexuality and erotic intelligence.
Across my work, I aim to create spaces that honor complexity, center dignity, and promote healing through authentic connection.
Professional Experience
I have been a clinical social worker since 2009 and have been actively involved in community-based programs throughout the Philadelphia metro area. Over the last decade, I have led HIV prevention and care programming for gay and bisexual men, supported recovery and resilience initiatives for federally qualified health centers, and provided psychotherapy to individuals navigating substance use and process-based addictions. My post-graduate training includes foundations-level study in relational-psychoanalytic psychotherapy, a certificate in clinical supervision, and certification as a Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), working with individuals seeking recovery-oriented approaches to healthy sexuality and erotic intelligence.
Beyond my clinical work, I currently teach graduate courses in social work practice at Columbia University and provide consultation to national, regional, and local organizations. My professional and community work continues to center the communities I am part of—Queer and Asian American communities, anti-Black racism in mental health, and body positivity.
I am deeply honored to be in community with compassionate colleagues and beautifully resilient individuals who continue to remind me that healing is both collective and deeply personal.
