About Me:
Howdy! I’m Luke, a 2nd generation Korean-American transgender man working towards my MSW and MSEd. Previously, I worked with high school youth and displaced communities in rural Northern Thailand and have also collaborated on community-engaged research on human connection and the power of active listening, especially within BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. My practice draws from a trauma-informed, critical race feminist lens to collaboratively create a safe space for healing, understanding, and growth. I am grounded in liberation ideologies and my love of humanity and all its beautiful and ugly intricacies, and all the ways we can work together to affirm these parts of ourselves in systems that constantly try to strip us away of it. As an intern, I am thankful to have the chance to learn new ways to support individuals therapeutically, centering radical self-acceptance, love, play, creativity and how these mvalues transform collective action.
